I don't use estrogel but by the sound of it you are using two pumps. I think that is a low dose, which makes sense because doctors usually start out prescribing a low dose, but will increase it if necessary. There would be no harm at all in increasing to 3 pumps to see if that helps.

The other issue is that not everyone gets on that well with utrogestan. Yes a lot of people advocate it, including Prof Studd, but it simply doesn't suit some women. I am much happier using Provera.

The other thing to keep in mind is that estrogel just may not suit you. Perhaps you will do better on a patch or maybe even a tablet. There are so many options. Don't feel you have to stick to something just because the doctor has chosen it.

I feel for you with the insomnia. That was my worst symptom, but HRT really solved the problem. Hang in there. I'm sure this will work out for you. It's just a real pain that the early stages can be a lot of trial and error.
