Oh, CBA! That's so lovely of you, thank you!  :) Both Warwick and I have struggled with the dizziness and strangeness, so this may very well be the answer for us to switch to the evening.

And yes, we definitely do the guilt and responsibility much more readily than giving ourselves time and permission for self care and nurturance! If my Hubby is anything to go by when he just has the common cold, I can only imagine what men would be like if they were having to deal with the menopause... ::)

I hope I develop a bit of a sweet tooth......I haven't had chocolate in such a long time!  :) xxxx

CBA a really lovely update, thankyou !

Ok so I finished my first month today

Today I've had some energy, go me !!!

Taking tablet @ 11am

Positives:
Intermittent energy
Bowels cooperating
Seem to have better bladder control
Headaches reducing
I swear my double vision isn't as bad
VA doesn't seem so bad
Enjoying previous hobbies again

Negatives:
Most days wake feeling hungover
Eating more
Not falling asleep until @ 2am
Achy stiff joints
Bad memory and word finding
Dry dry dry dry mouth (or could it be the steroid nose drops causing it?)

No change:
Still have social anxiety
Still no libido
Waiting for my wellbeing to come back

I think it's too early for changes to my hair, I'm finding this bit scary if I'm honest

CBA - great to hear your positive update.
Suzanne - On my bad days I read all your posts and it's given me the encouragement to carry on. However yesterday was the most challenging since starting this journey at day 35.

Ladies yesterday was Horrendous >:( sorry to put a damper on all the positive stories.

From around 10:00am I had the most crippling migraine that lasted all day. More importantly when I lie down I keep getting these strange feelings in my head which at the same time give me an adrenalin surge in my stomach, then tingling in both legs. I just wonder if this is my flushes  coming through through with the Tibolone trying to counteract them (hope you know what I mean) I think it's like what you describe Tempest a hormone crash. I also had my first massive panic attack around 12.00 noon. I almost rang for ambulance....... it was horrendous.

This morning my face is flushed and I feel emotional. Please advice me what you think these strange feeling are. My BP remains good 114/75

Aw Warwick what an absolute bummer what's happened to you

Have you had this experience without Tibolone ? I'm not sure about the migraine, I would've thought if it was Tibolone you'd have got it in the early days but I really don't know.  When I switched from elleste solo pill to elleste solo patch I got an almighty 4 day migraine where I went to A&E twice (my mum died from sudden brain haemorrhage and that headache scared me witless) Drs gave me on the 4th day anti nausea pills and before I'd got to the chemist I'd been sick and the headache went (dr told me to take patch off day 2) so my migraine was almost instant.  I know the dose of Tibolone can go to 5mg so it might be worth really monitoring this and speak to gp to see if you need to add in 1.25mg to start with if your surges are returning ?

Hoping your day is better today xxx

Edited:  just read the lovely Suzanne's brilliant post so ignore mine ! Suzanne is way further along than us so take note Warwick xxxx

Warwick hi 🙋

Listen I was exactly the same had to take to my bed several times in early days Up to about week 10-12

Listen try to gef yourself through it

With panic to remember it can't physically hurt you think of a mountain you get to the top you HAVE to come down

That's panic it' escalates takes over but it can only get to its peak then has to start coming down

It's horrendous and you physically feel awful worse than awful but it can't hurt you it really can't

With the migraines yep I had these too I couldn't even walk ! I felt dizzy spinning it was the worst I've EVER felt in my life nauseous palpitations throat constricting it was horrendous 😰

And yes my legs where weird ! One min ok then jelly legs pains like electric shocks in my shins ! All very bizzare   But they to have now  disappeared
I had to constantly tell myself it will pass it won't hurt you

It's easier said than done but you have to remember it can't HURT you

The surges of hormones 😳🙄😩 I know this too felt like my head was going to explode feeling in my stomach like mobile phone vibrating all the time

Weird weird feeling indescribable and one would think I was going mad !!  I wasn't though it was clearly my hormones taking over settling out ...

Im feeling tired today but maybe done s bit too much so I'm not beating myself up ( I've learned to do that ) I'm having  an hour laid on my bed reading and mindfulness ... it will pass and in an hour or so when I feel better I'll face the day

Ps drink loads of water I drink 3 litres a day Evian it helps me so much x

Listen to your body take care of yourself as you would Do others be kind to yourself and don't beat yourself up 💗💗

Much love xxxx

Os it's the ladies on here that got me through it and taught me to be kind to myself and it's working I have MM to thank x

Suzanne

Because I'm not getting as many side effects as others including yourself as silly as it sounds do you think this will still work for me ?
I know what I mean but probably not explaining it well

Like, you and others have gone through the mill early days on Tibolone to get a good outcome, could that still give me a good outcome even though I wouldn't really know by side effects I've switched regimes ?

Annie/Suzanne thank you soooo much for your kind words.

The rational side knows it is my body adjusting to the Tibolone. I was on a med to high dose of estrogeon for 4 years so just stopping the 3 pumps of gel and moving to Tib must have some impact. I got similar feeling (not as intense) 7 years ago prior to starting ellest duet 1mg.

Then the irrational side tells me the Tibolone will cause a stroke or epilepsy......grrr

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me and others. In my case I have no one to talk to and if I go to GP she is lovely but I know she will ask me what I think I should do.

No headache as yet. Will take tablet at 12:00 noon

Hi

Thought I'd posted but it's disappeared 🙄

Annie I'd stick with it

We are all different and nothing ventured  nothing gained  😉

We are all different and our bodies and their physiology are all unique and individual

In respect of hormones my personal experience has been 😩😖😩 hellish

But feel like I'm really getting there

I' was desperate truly desperate but with help on here persevered and am coming out of the other side

In reply  if  I got your ? Correct I'd say Is it  right for you ?

You won't know until youve given it a bloody good go ! Try try try to keep going until say week 16

This all based on personal experience as that the best to go by I'm my opinion 😊

As we can all read information leaflets google Wikipedia etc but it's real life experiences that have helped me 😉

Just because your not as you put it 😊 Getting as many horrendous experiences we are as I said all unique our bodies are very clever

Our levels of hormones will all differ so no one person is EXACTLY the same ... but we know that I know 😉

So with that in mind ... I'd say keep going take each day each hour as it is ... I still get the odd things think ummmmm is that hrt is that my hormones 😖 Then rationalise the thought immediately with so what if it is ... and chuckle to myself !

I'm learning to embrace myself first time ever 😊

I am an island on my own really as v private believe it or not ... but MM has literally been my rock and together we just need to communicate and help each other 💗💗

As we are all desperate to feel better x

Hope this helps 🙋💗😘😘

Warwick, my heart goes out to you truly!

In my opinion? I would probably check in with your GP if this persists over the weekend. I know we should expect 'ups and downs' but I'm just putting my sensible head on here!

You've had a couple of migraines since starting Tibolone? Good idea to mention these to the GP!  I know it's early days etc. etc. but if any symptoms no matter what causes them are making you feel that bad, it's important to get checked out if only for reassurance! If anything gets particularly worrying, don't hesitate to call 111 and get seen by the out of hours GP.

As a note, my BP is now starting to dip worryingly low. It's down in the 90/60's a lot of the time, and this makes me feel very confused, panicky and sick - not to mention dizzy! I had one day when it was ok, but yesterday from teatime onward (even after eating) and today it's been VERY low again. I'm keeping a close eye on the situation......I don't even get this low on no HRT!  :o

I know Mer over in the surgical menopause thread has been on Tibolone 11 weeks and has experienced a lot of dizziness and other symptoms progressively after a few weeks (but it could have been post-op hormone crash in her case), but I would have thought the Tibolone would have worked to alleviate that by now if it was a sudden drop in hormones. She was off to her GP yesterday to get checked out, so I'm keenly waiting to see what her update is.

So I guess I'm saying, Warwick - if you're feeling truly rotten, get checked over! It may be the Tibolone, it may be something else entirely but the important thing is if you're really not feeling well then having a check over can at least put your mind at rest - there's no harm in it (especially as you're hypothyroid as well. I know Tibolone raises T3 and T4 slightly, so something might need tweaking there - you never know)!

Sending you biggest hugs, and do check in with us when you've taken your dose today if you can so that we know you're ok! After all, you're a sister to us all here! xxxxx

Day 15.

Well, the blood pressure is still in silly figures. Very, very lethargic today indeed! Mood has been ok, apart from later this afternoon when I had some nasty anxiety for a couple of hours with no trigger. Like a horrible churning feeling (not the adrenal surge type stuff).

Hope you're ok, Warwick? I've been thinking about you today. Hugs to you too Annie, hope your day has been ok too. xxxxx

I'm ok thanks Tempest, just ear pain

I'm on my 2nd weak Bacardi, I'm away on a works conference next weekend And thought I best try some alcohol this week after stories I've read about Tibolone and alcohol.
