How did it go?

I was humming along to an Abba song earlier and wondered whether showing "Mamma Mia" to your group and singing along would be an idea?  I expect that most people know some if not all of their songs.

Sit them on chairs in a circle. Give one person a parcel containing a small gift (bar of soap/choc,etc). Make up a story which contains the words 'left and right' and read it out. For example: 'my mum sent me to the shop as she had no bread LEFT. On the way there, I turned LEFT instead of RIGHT and got myself in a RIGHT old muddle.........' And continue with the story for as long as you want. Best to write it down. It's sort of like pass the parcel as they pass the parcel to the person on their left or right according to the story. It's quite fun especially if you include marching in the story, LEFT,RIGHT,LEFT,RIGHT etc! Whoever has the parcel at the end of the story is the winner of the prize.
Called the left and right game it's good fun and only requires your imagination for the story.

Thought I would give you all an update on the party.
It was fabulous! 40 people attended which was a record and we never stopped laughing all night. Everyone joined in - as if they had a choice! We had pass the parcel with at one time four parcels going in different directions, a Christmas themed quiz, a Who am I game with committee members having previously given me 3 wacky facts about themselves, and to finish it all off we had a singalong. They were all divided into four groups depending on their badges. It was an absolute hoot.
Afterwards loads of people said it was the best ever. Two even said it was the best Christmas party they had ever been to,even the ones they had paid for! One person even asked if I had done this before - no.
Roaring success! And we had a buffet!

I could do with someone to go into the Care Home Mum stays in to encourage movement, music, mime  ::) - she's getting introverted.
