Help is it going to be this bad forever!
« on: November 09, 2016, 12:00:39 PM »

Help from anyone, thick buzzing head. Just cannot seem to shift it. Then also seem to notice pains more, like the stupid pain I think I have in my arm. And I feel as if getting stressed more at work, cannot seem to calm myself, then guess what, yes head gets worse. Never ending circle. Can this all really be due to the menopause?
Seemed to float through early stages but suddenly in past couple of months everything seems to have gone mad. It's as if I don't own my own body anymore. >:(

The Change!  we become aware of little aches and pains …….. as oestrogen levels drop so muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Add to those the lack of periods: or more bleeding etc.; which makes every day an awareness and the wonder of 'what now'!

Hi, well going for a blood test tomorrow to hopefully prove there are no other probs, eg thyroid etc so that the Doc can assume Menopause probs and then work from there. See we were never told when we were young that it could be this bad. The Doc recommend this site and so glad she did. Lots of info if you go digging and you all are so lovely. x

Hello Clare11.

When my menopausal anxiety is high I also find it difficult to calm myself down, possibly because the feelings are not actually being generated by outside circumstances but coming from chemical changes within, if that makes sense. I am struggling again atm but I also have 'normal' times when I don't feel the anxiety at all.

I think it's great that your doctor is exploring all avenues as I'm sure that's the path to a correct diagnosis and treatment.

Wishing you well and let us know how you get on tomorrow.

K.

Hi there, just to say even though I hate blood tests I managed it. Now just have to wait for the results. Though I think the test did bring on my anxiety as today has not been too good. But, now going on holiday so having to relax to catch the plane. Hopefully all will be good and hormones and anxiety will ease. x

Hi Sparkle, the Nurse seem to imply all things to do with the menopause, I think I counted about 9 different codes on the package. Thyroid was there, cholesterol too I believe and some other s. I should have asked really shouldn't I, ops. But they did take two lots so hopefully that means quite a few checks. Doctor did day she would give me a full work over as I didn't like blood tests so may as well get it all done. Does that sound good?

I had the same thing happen to me. It started a year ago, my head went all funny and I started feeling pain in my head, stomach and other organs. I thought I had a tummy bug that kept reacurring. It got worse and worse and I lost 15kg in a few weeks. No one put it down to menapause because of the weight loss. I ended up in hospital for a week and had every test possible done on me, but everything came back clear and I didn't know what to do next. I couldn't go to work or anything. I then noticed that the symptoms were accompanied by hot flashes. They tried me on HRT but that made things worse. I've ended up on a product called Amberen which has helped immensely but has not completely got rid of the symtoms even on a double dose. But it has helped me live life sort of normally! FODMAP diet has also helped heaps, along with breathing techniques and contemplative techniques for the mind, and walking for excercise.

Thank you all. Got to holiday destination. Not too many probs. But woke this morning with dread. Same old same " will I have a heart attack and what will we do". Bit of tightness in the upper chest but putting that down to anxiety. Have got my diary and CBT work sheets. 8) will write and do my homework.
And thanks lianevaletine for your view. I have lost quite a bit of weight too and everyone has put that down to anxiety. In away I really hope all my probs are menopausal and then I can assure myself i am not as mad as people think. x

Enjoy your holiday claire11 and if it is menopause that is causing the symptoms then the first thing I had to do was to learn not to be afraid of it, and there is help out there for it!
