Thank you Peri, I'm sorry it's not for you,  are you trying anything else?

I posted for information purposes especially for those of us who are going off piste so to speak.

Yes I get that and it's valuable information.  No I've been concentrating on my mirena settling (which it is btw) and thought I'd revisit the libido (or lack of) next.  I'm struggling to think of alternatives though, and it's a shame as I really miss it.  May have to go private, but even so not sure if there's anything else out there x

Peri you should try Testim or Tostran gel to see if you're allergic to them ?

Hi Annie, yes I could.  I think I've probably presumed that because testim is stronger it would be worse and maybe I'd have the same reaction to tostran, but maybe not.  You've given me food for thought, thank you x

I think Tostran is the strongest so you use less of it

Morning all. I thought I'd give a brief update on my experiences with Tibolone.

My prescription ran out 10 days ago and I've been allowed to have them on repeat as long as I stay fit and healthy.

Now I haven't collected a new batch because despite being active,  working out and weight training in the mornings, my figure has changed especially around my middle. Is the Tibolone to blame?

Has anyone else experienced weight gain around their middle with Tibolone?

Since not taking Tibolone I've lost 4lbs and hope to lose the 'thick set' look I've developed.

I've gained weight too. I think Tibolone is notorious for it.

But to be fair meno in general has played havoc with my weight figure and partly to blame is I gave up smoking too as soon as meno hit and I felt ill

I gained @ 8-10llb on Tib, and I halved the dose about a month ago and couple of pound fell off .  I'm fitting in size 10/12 now and although I thought my fat was mainly middle I got measured 2 weeks ago for a dress and it's hourglass measurements which really shocked me

Yes I put a few pound on I was only taking it for about two months and couldent believe it my clothes were getting so tight! It dident help me though I felt calmer which was great but the dizzy spells were wretched its taken a few weeks but the pounds are dropping off now my clothes are fitting again.

Thanks for your replies, it's reassuring to know. I'm at the stage where my normal size 12 wardrobe just doesn't fit and isn't flattering.

It's been 10 days and the hot flushes and night sweats haven't come back, so cross fingers it stays that way.

Tibolone is both a blessing and a curse it seems.

I gained weight on Tibolone too, not sure it's fat gain or fluid though. It went within a week of stopping so I'm guessing it's more likely retained water?!
I'd rather of lived a few pounds heavier if it's working though!

I've lost weight, about 5-7lbs but because of the excercise I'm managing to do with my new energy it looks and feels like I've lost more, maybe a stone - my jeans could really do with a belt now, or I need to size down.

My appetite has defiantly changed too and I'm not craving sweet things as much as I used to - can eat just a square of chocolate without the wanting to eat the whole bar - which now lasts over a week!  Pre menstrual I had to hide the kids chocolate and peri I was even worse.

I think the effects do vary a lot between us, and I just wanted to post for anyone thinking of trying Tibolone and might be put off.

Well I certainly don't want to put anyone off because Tibolone has  made a huge difference to my life and I'm definitely an advocate.

Like you Sooze I've got my energy and life back and don't ever want to go back to how I was.

I can already see a difference around my middle,  and at this rate I'll have my waistline back soon. Hopefully  the hot flushes and night sweats return before then.

If it is water retention what can I do?

Anyone help please.  Been on tibolone just over four months and after the first two months my libido got better and got back to reasonable orgasms.  But this last month I seem to be going in reverse with less libido and weaker, harder to achieve orgasms. Feeling really low as thought things were getting better.  Anyone else experiencing this? Getting desperate again.
