"Battersea Dogs Home, may I help you?"

"Property belongs to the Council"

for the calls regarding 'windows' - "I don't own a computer"  ;D

Think my hubby may say something a little more crass if it happens again!  ;D

He battled with Sky today over our internet connection. He has a short fuse at the moment, something I've hardly ever seen or heard in all the years I've known him. In fact I said I was preparing to duck in case any expletives came my way!  ;D ;D ;D I'm hoping it's just because he's under the weather at the moment.  ::)

I have been bombarded with these calls following an accident in the summer where someone drove into the back of our car...so not our fault.
Have had what seems hundreds of them and my daughter now seems to be getting them. She firmly told the last caller that it was still not legal for her to drive for another 4 years!

As an aside - Himself had a letter regarding PPI this morning, obviously his 'F-off' comment recently didn't get through  ;D.  I've sent it back in their self-addressed envelope ………

I heard one that made me chuckle recently.

Caller: Good evening sir,  our records show that you were involved in an accident recently.  Is that correct?
Irritated houseowner "Well yes I was,  rather a serious one.  I was decapitated"
Caller: a long pause before hanging up

A colleague at work had one of those 'we are calling about your recent accident' calls - you know, the ones that don't start by asking if you've had an accident, but rather state that you have.

He's really good at keeping a straight face, and made them believe he actually believed he'd had an accident he couldn't remember!  He had them believing he was going to see his doctor as he must have had a serious head injury - they ended up back-peddling like fury and trying to convince him he hadn't had an accident!  He kept up the game for quite some time before snapping out of 'panicked person' mode and asking them if he's wasted enough of their time before putting the phone down.  We were in stitches!!  ;D

Scampi my hubby does the same and is on the phone for ages, it drives me nuts as whilst the calls are annoying I always think there's probably some poor soul who desperately needs the work and is forced to do anything.

Anyway, when hubby answers his voice suddenly becomes high pitched so I know exactly who's calling. He pretends he has killed someone in his 'accident' and driven away. He starts begging them not to call the police etc etc and sounds really panicked. I swear that one day we'll get a full swat team turn up on our doorstep!!

Rather than getting stressed, they are turning this around with a sense of humour! I'm going to take a leaf out of their books if I have one of these calls and have some fun!

I'm loving these reactions!  ;D Doubt my hubby would do that as he detests time wasting of any kind these days. I'd love to pull it off, but would end up giggling.
