personal itching
« on: October 14, 2016, 07:39:49 AM »

Hello everyone, haven't been on here for several months.Very pleased to say my Atrophy has been great and pretty non excistent. Think the Vagifem and low dose Kliovance HRT have help enormously. Plus am not sitting on small plastic chairs to aggravate that area as I have retired. My problem now is personal itching. Do any of you suffer this? And if so what do you treat the itching with?  I only get it about once or twice a week in the same area. Treating it with Vagisil and  Multi Gyn at present. Usually comes on when I get warm in bed. Hope not to be on HRT for too long as it was only meant to be short term. Just need help with the itching now. Replies much appreciated.  Hope you are all improving.

Occasionally I get intense itching high up - out of reach!  I would suggest using Live Greek yoghurt, eaten and applied.  Keep tubs separate of course.  Put a lot of yoghurt on a tampon and push gently into place.

It could be dryness.  Thrush also starts in similar fashion!

Thank you for your reply. My itching is more on the outer folds, but will give the live yoghurt a try. I have had thrush before and know it isn't that. Guess it's just one if the many menopause symptoms. It seems to have eased since using the vagisil so will continue that for a few days and hope it goess away. Might even try 3 vagifem this week. Thanks again.

Hi Maryjane,

I don't have VA at the moment but think I may be slightly reacting to a vegetable oil soap that I've been using for years. Just slightly prickly after shower. I am allergic to masses and very reactive and my soap is supposed to be pure with no nasties but I can start reacting very suddenly. I thought I would compare the PH balance with that brilliant link you posted by Panay re vag moisturisers etc but it won't now open, says expired. Can you provide a new link as I can't find it when googling.

Thanks so much! x

I use witch hazel gel it stings but the relief after is fantastic, it does say it is for intimate itching. It is also very reasonably priced. Flutterbyx
