Adenomyosis anyone?
« on: September 24, 2016, 09:23:03 PM »

Hello
After almost a month off HRT and an endometrial biopsy, Hysteroscopy, ultrasound and TV scan, my diagnosis has changed from
Fibroids to Adenomyosis.

I've googled this condition as you do and at last it seems I have a name for the condition that has made me very unwell for the last few years.

Exhaustion, pain, low ferritin, palpitations, breathlessness, 14 day heavy periods and total lack of vitality!

I'm supposed to be having an ablation for fibroids- which was my first diagnosis, in November. Not sure if that will still stand.

Just wanted to know if anyone else hAd had this condition and what if anything had remedied it?

Xxx

I had similar and had an ablation (novasure) not looked back, ferritin levels back to normal within several months. Very light periods for a year or so afterwards which now seem to have stopped altogether. Am 53 and had ablation Nov 2014. 😊😊😊

Hi Darkhorse

Thanks for your reply.

That's good to hear that it has sorted out the heavy bleeding. What was your recovery like from the ablation?

Think it's the Novasure method I'll be having.

Recovery was pretty quick, just mild/moderate period pains for a day or two afterwards and some spotting like discharge. I had a couple of weeks off work because I had quite a stressful job and wouldn't have been able to take it easy. And I was still exhausted from the low ferritin. Would have been back at work after a week if other factors hadn't applied. 🙂🙂🙂

Hi Darkhorse

Thanks for your reply, good to know someone who's been through a Novasure for similar reasons.

I was hoping it'd be no more than a week for recovery too.

Thank you
