anybody seen Red Hatters or maybe you are one

IN town this morning and a coach load of red hat ladies descended!  I've seen them before and they're ladies over 50 who like to wear purple clothes and red hats and have fun apparently.
They were inspired by the Jenny Stanley poem "when I'm old I shall wear purple" etc

I googled it and there are "chapters" All over the place. They were having a good laugh anyway and some of their outfits were amazing and the hats were like Royal ascot gone red!!

Sounds awesome - off to Google!  Purple is my favourite colour (I'm not 50 yet though  :-\)

There was a contestant on deal or no deal last year who was exactly as you describe PF.
She was a very happy, jolly woman who said that she belonged to this group of woman who had days out etc.

Perhaps we should start one  ;D ;D

I know the poem, I think her name is Jenny Joseph. I really like the poem and its philosophy but I don't think I would be brave enough to stand out so much  ::)

If you're over 50 you'd qualify as a Red Hatter Taz!  ;).  under 50s wear pink hats .... Apparently!

Lol - sorry I don't consider myself old enough to wear purple and a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me at 62 let alone 50!

Yep - I met some of the King's Lynn sect in Ely one day - a bit too rigid in their views for my liking  ::)

I have a purple dress, but no hat Ju Ju.  ;D Don't suit hats anyway, which is probably just as well.  ::)
