Been a fan of Armistead maupin since his first novel . Just finished reading a few minutes ago 'The days of Anna Madrigal ' had a few tears at the end what a moving book.I have struggled recently with concentration due to low mood so to be able to read this and appreciate the message was very moving for me. I hope others find solace in books too xx

We loved the books/TV series of Tales of the City. Mary Ann, Mona, Michael 'Mouse', Anna - loved following all their adventures  :)  It was when I first recognised the talent that is Olympia Dukakis.

Sorry, that's not about Books is it  :-X  I will look into the Days of Anna Madrigal (a man and a girl)

Yes it was, the characters became like friends.  Only the first two books were featured in the TV series and it was a long time ago.  I would love to read the story of Anna's last journey back to Winnemucca.

anyway, other books - I love a murder mystery and I liked the earlier Minette Walters.  For light or holiday reading I enjoyed the Dorothy Koomson books and my daughter has introduced me to Harlan Coben.

Has anyone read "Winter in Madrid" by C. J. Sansom?   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_in_Madrid
I'd love to see it made into a film.

No it's waiting for me on my bookshelf. Have you read his novels based in the time of Henry the 8th? Can't remember the titles or name or the main character, who was a humped back solicitor. Memory has come back! The 1st book is called Reformation. Very good.

I like Dorothy Koomsons books as well. I'm enjoying Citadel by Kate Mosse at the moment.

I like the sound of the book and author recommended by walking the dog. Could you give a bit more idea of what the story is about?
