So after no hrt for 3 months I have started my oestrogen. Gel. Supposed to wait until day one of my period.but.doc did say if it didnt appear when expected. Just go ahead. Last period.was 31st march I am usually regular but typical still.no.bleed despite all the usual.signs and build.up.so 1st march one pump of gel every day then progesterone from day 15-26. I havr an important event in 27th and thinking of delaying the progesterone a few days so I dont get period or horrible symptoms til its over. Would that be ok?  Also suspect one pump  is a bit low but will run with it she did say I could up it to two.  Of course my gp didnt give me erbough to be flexible with it like that despite the meno clinic advice so more palaver of fetting script but will.cross that bridge when I come to it!! Please let this work :-\

Yes, you can play around with the progesterone part of your regime, I do it all the time and it's never done me any harm and I used to do it with the pill too if I had an important event coming up.

I am on the Oestrogel/Utrogestan regime and the beauty is you can adjust the dose of the Oestrogel and the timing of the Utrogestan to suit your needs.

If you still have symptoms on 1 pump of Oestrogel then you can up the dose to 2 pumps.  I am on 2 pumps and split it by 12 hours to keep the levels up and that has really helped.

Hope this works for you tinkerbellj...I am on my third month and almost back to normal. I would just say about delaying the utro cause I have never missed a period I can't do that, I tried but my own cycle kicked in and period arrived as I was starting utro but you should be OK as yo have missed periods. My doc started me on 2 pumps straight off and I have now been upped to 3 which is making me human again as still felt quite low on 2...keep us updated on your progress xx

Keepgoing u have made my day I am so glad it is . working for u. My periods werw reg as clockwork until last month when it was 2 weeks late. Day three of gel and I can feel my womb cramping already.  Happens every time it is a pain but I can cope with it if I get me back!! Xx just a quick question when your own hormones es kicked in did u keep taking the utro? When that happened to me on one of my hrt gp told.me.to.stop right away but hey what do they know. Plus it was a continuous hrt that I should never have been on amyway with regular . periods at the time x

Hi tinkerbellj my own period appeared on day one of taking my utro when I delayed it, so I just took it for 7 days just to be on the safe side not the full 12 days as recommended this resulted in a longer period 😟 but didn't want to not take it. I have absolutely no side effects on the gel but do get some for about 5 days on utro but better 5 bad days than every day being rubbish. Keep us posted how you get on xx

Oh do u need a lower dose vaginally? I am on 200mg from day 15-day 26. Think thats quite a lot for one pump a day? Anyway I am o n day four of one pump and my head is spinning like vertigo. Not sure if its related?

I just use 100 mg vaginally which is my choice I get a decent bleed on this but the recommended dose is 200mg and most people on her do use that vaginally. Maybe they will advise better on this as I say I chose to cut it myself as my thinking is you lose half of it taking it orally and vaginally you don't. I may try 200mg next time x
