Patches

Been on the patches just under two weeks - not impressed with the staying power - am on the fourth patch and this one is coming away too - perhaps it's my bad luck that I may have a dodgy batch - anyone else have this annoying issue? >:( :-\

Hi, I've been having the same problem.  I was on Evorel but it is a known problem with this brand so my GP moved me to Femseven.  I'm still having the same problem.  Currently I have micropore holding it on!  Next stop gaffer tape.  When they do fall off I find that within an hour I get the most awful anxiety attacks.

Yes, all the time that is why I switched to Oestrogel.  I found patches didn't stick, left a horrid black mark, I didn't get enough oestrogen out of them and last but not least, I didn't like going around with a patch stuck to my backside.  Would definitely never go back to them.

I've always found Femseven stick well and have to really struggle to remove them at the end of very week.

well lucky you - I've black squares all over my bum.  I know oil would take it off but then I'd never get a patch to stick!

well  I got so fed up with the patches losing their sticky after a day and starting to come away (I have had brown parcel tape on my backside over the weekend!!) - I have been in contact with my GP today and she has prescribed me Evorel patches - but I see from one of the responses earlier that they too don't stick!!! well I will give them a go and if no good I will try tablets!!

Could not micropore help?  As long as the active part of the patch is in contact with the skin  :-\

Annidav - what patches did you try that didn't stick? I use Estradot ( they are tiny!) and they always stick really well - you change them twice a week.

You shouldn't use Micropore or anything to help stick them down - they should stick by themselves and you can only see that they do so by using the patch alone. No need to try tablets! Which bit of your butt are you sticking them to? As long as it's covered by your nix and not on a bit that always runs against elastic etc you should be fine! Also depend how you take down your jeans/leggings - don't slither them down - undo the button and belt ( if jeans) and take them down properly - I've found out this the hard way  ::)

Hurdity I am now on Estradot patches but they aren't tiny; put one on last night and am p,eased to report it is still sticking!! I have been putting them on the cheek so that it would be covered by the knickers but not in line with any elastic or edges. Oh how I wish I COULD just slither my jeans off without undoing them   :D :D :D

Haha - mine are all low-waisted (ie because I don't have much of a waist!) and being post-menopause even though I'm slim my hips are only a few inches bigger than my hips - hence the easy slither!

Oh - you must be on a bigger patch then? Mine are 50 mcg and are very small - and especially if you compare them to Evorel and I presume the others!

I make sure I have a regular feel of the patch and press it down again to ensure it stays stuck (when I remember and hopefully not obviously!!!) I've been using them so long it's a bit of a habit  ::)

Hope they work for you!
