Hello all

Two years since last period in 2014.  Absolutely no meno symptoms for over a year, no more hot sweats, flushes, joint pains...nothing.   Slight 'morning dreads' and anxiety which have not had for ages.

Two weeks ago, craving chocolate, sore boobs, then a week ago, terrible cramps.  This morning, horrible reddish brown sticky discharge.

Don't want to see doc for all sorts of horrible tests.  It wasn't sudden, out of the blue bleeding - it definitely felt hormonal...like ovulation....pmt...period. 

What would you advise?

Advice is to see Dr for any post menopausal bleeding. Have a search on this forum about it. I don't think the tests are horrible..

Hi lesley - although it can seem like a pain to have to go through scans etc. my advice is that you should get this checked out. As you have had all of the hormonal signs it does sound like a period but it's still vitally important that any bleeding after more than a year without is investigated. It's really not worth taking the risk.

How old are you? This might have a clue as to why this has happened as my understanding is that it is more likely under 50. Have a chat with the GP for peace of mind, this is the recommended plan of action. It sounds hormonal but must be checked.
