since starting the estradoit patch my nipples are really sensitive they seem to have got worse since the addition of the utrogestrsn . Last night I kept waking up with a stabbing pain in my nipple like a red hot needle was been jabbed in constantly it is day eight of a fourteen day utrogestean regime and its my first cycle on this regime Ialso had a slight breakthrough bleed on saturday .

is it just the change of hrt  thanks

I'm only guessing, but I think it could be from changing your hrt. When my hot flashes became bothersome (anxiety and such beyond only getting hot) I felt pinching or stabbing in my nipples before and during the hot flashes. It felt like something was stuck in my bra irritating. I completely forgot about it until a friend reminded me that I had complained of it.

Hello walking the dog.

Recently my nipples have become sore and tender, very similar to pre period days. The only thing I can attribute this to is a reduction in my HRT as I have been cutting a corner off my patch. I have been doing this for months so why this symptom has started now is a mystery but it definitely feels hormonal.

I sometimes feel that this journey is three steps forward and two back!

Take care.

Thank you for replies . I was thinking my bras were too small but their not ! on reflecting it could be reduced estrogen as the meno specialist said the premarin I was taking orally was a high doee hrt and now im on a 50 ncg estradiol patch so it makes sense .
Thanks for pointing this out to me as would never have crossed my mind xx

For 3-4 months I've had sharp pains or general soreness in the whole breast.  Not on HRT except Ovestin1mg occasionally vaginally.  That's the only thing I can link these changes on.  Waiting for a mammo report to come back.

I've been bra-less since 1995.

The last year or so I've had quite a few "nipple/boob episodes". Never had so much weird on-and-off pain before until I entered peri. Lots of times it feels like my nipples are chafed and uncomfortable. A few months ago I had STABBING pains in my left breast. Not a predictable pattern at all. Having a period doesn't necessarily get rid off sore/swollen boob symptoms anymore, like it used too.
