This happened to me when using patches and that's why gel can sometimes be better.  Using the Oestrogel can be a nuisance as you have to apply it daily and allow it to dry but you can at least make sure you are getting a consistent dose and also adjust the dosage to control symptoms - in other words, start with one pump per day and then, if flushes etc. are not under control after 3-4 weeks, increase to 2 pumps per day if need be.  Dg x

Someone on here suggested I change every 3 days instead of every 4  or 3 then 4 and that made a huge difference to me.  After the 3rd day my flushes were just bubbling up again but changing on 3rd day has stopped that -

Not sure what patch you are on Anjia - is it well stuck down and is it a twice weekly change normally? I change mine every 3.5 days to keep levels at their optimum but I know some women feel every 3 days is better. Important not to go too frequently because levels drop off when you remove patch and then take time to build up from the new patch - not quite sure how this works in terms of actual levels - I presume there could be a dip after 6 hours of the change maybe although I might be wrong!! Maybe you need a higher dose generally if flushes are returning?

How long have you been on them, Anjia? I felt like mine ran out early at first. A change in insurance company forced me to switch from generic to brand name after my first month, so I can't say for sure whether it was being on them longer or switching patches, but I don't feel the fluctuation anymore. I suspect it's both reasons. I know the brand name ones I use now are thinner and seem to adhere better, even though I didn't have problems with the others coming off. They just didn't stick as firmly. Like Hurdity, I go 3.5 days, Tues night and Sat morn.

I try to change every 3.5 days for consistency and keep the old patch on for a few hours before removing It. I've had the odd occasionwhere I've gone longer for whatever reason and it's been fine. I did worry sometimes about the patch 'wearing out of oestrogen' and would sometimes be inclined to blame the way I was feeling to this but I soon realised the patch was doing its job ok.
I did find in the last  that after my Monday patch change I was inclined to have a headache the next day but keeping the old patch on as well for a bit helped.
