Anyone had sudden return of night sweats? Mine far worse than they were 7 years ago when periods stopped! have some swollen lymph nodes so worrying about link. Hoping it is just the worry that made them return!

Hi nigela,

You seem to be posting about this problem on several different threads.  You are obviously very worried about it.  I think perhaps you should go and see your GP again, and get some reassurance. None of us is medically qualified to advise you, other than from personal experience or doing web searches ourselves.

I really think that the worry it is causing you is making the situation worse, so proper medical advice is much more appropriate.

I cannot get to see my GP for another 2 weeks so that is not helping and no chance of me seeing anyone else. was sjut wondering if it was normal to be so soaked with meno at night!

Re the night sweats - anything and everything is normal re night sweats although as oestrogen levels decline to their lowest level approximately two years following last period - it would be unusual for them to suddenly get worse.

The fact that they have done so and you have swollen lymph nodes could indicate an infection as Dancinggirl says so with the wait it might resolve anyway.

However is it not possible to see a  doctor sooner than 2 weeks - say if it hasn't resolved in a week? Is there not a quicker appointment for something that is a new problem and not a routine appointment ( OK to wait) and an emergency (see doc that day)? I would say you want to be seen this week if you are concerned.

Hi Nigela, my night sweats returned with a vengeance too. I am 57 and started menopause at 52. I do still get the odd day sweat too, but mostly just when I'm stressed. However, if they have got worse since you noticed swollen lymph glands ( you haven't said which glands and if you feel unwell) it is worth a check up with your dr. Can you not ring early in the morning for a same day appointment, or if you are feeling unwell you could class this as urgent when they ask. X

It is in my groin and above pubic bone too. ultra sound confirmed this. pain too. He has now rung me and needs me to go to specialist for biopsy he thinks. worried more!
