So pleased that the jenyns arms still serves good grub! Went there for a wedding celebration in the 1980s.

How's the camp site?

Yes jenyns Arms !
Campsite was lovely, just sad really that they have rules but don't check up therefore others seem to ignore them

No noise after 11pm, no ball games around the tents (there was a HUGE field really close by, no under 8s in the play equipment, strict markings for tents

Kept awake til gone 1am two nights by a group of drunken, sweating regulars, the regulars continously played football and frisbee amongst our tents, brother and SIL were in their caravan and whilst we were out saw the ball bash our tent (thank god we moved our flat screen into the middle more) and bashed my brothers tent knocking everything off his fridge, then when we were going out to eat and went to brothers caravan their frisbee smashed into his caravan ! Teenagers monopolising the play equipment and of course neighbours took our pitch with their car then went out for the day ! So we had to pitch way further from the hook up

It's a shame, because the site really is lovely

There are rules and regulations on all sites, some are governed by the LA.  Could you send a letter (not e-mail) to the owners and explain that you won't be recommending the site although it's nicely situated etc.?  The site we use [CC Cc] in Yorkshire is rarely visited by the owner who lives close by but we have a working relationship and know that she would take action should there be problems.  If no one lets the owner know they are probably un-aware.

CC and C&CC have strict distance rules between units of 6metres and I would like to see this on all sites including Festival sites, it's for a fire break as well as noise control.

I love staying in a top end Hotel ;-).  That's home then  ::) - I agree Suzi Q - try and test first?  Would a log cabin be more suitable?

Just been to a music festival. Does that count as a holiday? It rained (doesn't it always?) but the music was great even though I hadn't heard of most of the bands! :).

I am itching to book a holiday but don't want to go while my knee is still painful. The weeks are flying by. :'(

Hubby and I have been back at work for a few weeks now and the early rises are knocking me for six, to the point that I'm craving another holiday already!   ::)

That's the advantage of not having to work, no alarm clock going off at 6.30 a.m.  ;)

I can't book anything due to anxiety surges when ever I think about leaving home  :'(

We go abroad several times a year but since being post meno I've got really anxious about airports I don't know what it is it's completely irrational so much so that the last half a dozen or so times I've nearly said that I wasn't going but then I look at DH who is so excited (and in need of a holiday) and have to give myself the you can do it talk in my mind together with a lot of deep breathing. I don't relax until I'm sat on the plane.

I can still rember when being at the airport ment the holiday had begun and we would have something to eat and a couple of G&T's. Now I couldn't eat or drink alcohol sometimes I can manage a coffee but more often than not I just stick to water.

I have previously travelled by plane on my own without a second thought but those days appear to be long gone now.Which is a pity as we have a holiday home in Lanzarote which we used a lot prior to my memo journey from hell.
