Hi mollymoo

It's difficult to diagnose menopause from blood tests alone because they vary so much - although if your estradiol levels were measured in pmol/l then that is very low especially on HRT! In your position symptoms would be a better measure because you've had an ablation, since you can't really tell from your cycle.
Getting flushes and sweats are consistent with a low estradiol, as well as oestrogen that has dropped. These generally start to occur during peri-menopause as periods start to be missed and for many women continue well beyond menopause (and some women start to get them even when periods are still regular). However if you have had pms type symptoms including mood swings then maybe you are still peri-menopausal. Of course you probably won't get a bleed because of the ablation!
Perhaps you would benefit from a higher dose? I don't know if docs every prescribe the Low Dose along with the Ultra low, to give 1.5 mg oestrogen - but it's worth a try, otherwise you would have to go onto cyclical HRT ie Femoston 2/10 - but that may lead to some pms for a couple of days during the changeover from oestrogen and prog combi tabs to oestrogen only. However it may help your symptoms overall? The info on the different types can be found on the drop-down tabs above ( Treatments/HRT preparations)
In the meantime why not read this article about the peri-menopause here:
