If you ring you will have an idea as to what will happen next week!
Make that list anyway to take along to the appt.

Have just had letter from hospital confirming appointment next week, but it just mentioned seeing a consultant and not tests. I have rung the department, and was told the consultant will check me over and decide whether I need mammogram, ultrasound etc but that it might not happen the same day!! Not happy

Could well be a fibroadenoma. Also known as a 'breast mouse' because it feels a bit slippery and like it's moving around slightly under your fingers.
I had one about 16 years ago, as big as a large grape. Located very close to the nipple, in the left hand side. Nothing to worry about. I had it removed and you can't even really see the scar anymore. Just a faint silvery line.

Oh and 2 week urgent referral is just the standard nowadays. I had a blocked milk duct 10 years ago. My GP knew that was what it was but said he still had to refer me anyway. Was seen within 10 days. It was a blocked milk.duct.

Back from hosp. It's a rather large cyst
Have to go back in three weeks for another ultra sound where they will drain the fluid out. Although don't look forward to the needle part, so glad that's all it is.

Wish I'd seen this earlier, sorry. I had the same thing in the summer. Found a lump, went to docs who urgently referred me. Was seen within ten days. Turned out to be a cyst with other smaller ones around. Cyst was borderline for draining so was left over summer. When i returned it had all but gone! Glad your mind is at rest now. xxx

Fantastic news, although not nice that you have a cyst, but relief that's all it is 😊😊

Cherylks, that's great news.
Getting it drained is easy and relatively painless. Had 'em done loads of times. The needle bit is more of a sharp scratch, like having a blood sample taken. Nothing to worry about.
Relax and enjoy the New Year.
