How long for BCP/progesterone to leave the body?
« on: December 06, 2015, 09:30:23 PM »

As some may know I recently tried Yaz then Qlaira, I had to stop both of them due to my mood plummeting  :-\ I was on Yaz for 2 weeks then Qlaira for 3, I stopped the Qlaira just over a week ago. My mood is still really quite low and it's beginning to scare me a bit  :( do you think it could be just down to what my body's been through with the 2 pills?

With Christmas just around the corner this is the last thing I need  :-\ not looking forward to it at all at the moment, can't even be bothered putting the decs up  :-\
I've had a horrible strange headache for what seems like forever, weak and tired, just not right but can't put my finger on what's wrong  :-\ I hope it's just remnants of both pills leaving my system or that I've got a bug or something? Throats been feeling a bit iffy on and off and my eyes feel stingy  :-\ whatever it is just hope it buggers off very soon  :(

Are you sure it is not a bug? I have now had it for ten days and initial symptoms sound similar - headache, fatigue, miserable. It then turned into a stinking cold, cough and ear ache. Most of my friends and family now have it  :-\

Even if it is a bug, the hormonal shift can't be helping. My doctor said seven days for it to leavethecsystem, but I think it took nearer ten when I stopped Marvelon. when will you start the new hrt? X

I did think it was a water infection but that came back clear? I don't have a temp? my ears have felt like they're blocked, like when your going up a hill  ??? Maybe it is a bug

I don't know if I should wait a little while to have the Mirena? It won't be until a week maybe 2 by the time the appt comes through anyway.

Sorry you have it too Briony, it's awful isn't it?

There is a bug going round that sounds very like that.  It takes so long to recover that you think you never will, but you do!

Well the headache seems to be getting better, thank god. I had a good day yesterday, really quite upbeat with no anxiety, unfortunately today it's been back with its friend low mood too  :-\
I've been using 2 pumps of oestrogel but wondering if I should increase, just so fed up of the ups and downs, well mainly downs  :'(

Hi Chi chi I don't know if this is the same  but when I was using a Conti patch and the side-effects got to much, the day after I stopped it I felt immediate relief, although of course  the progesterone  might still have been somewhere in my system for a few days. On the other hand I've just finished a course of Provera which is a tablet and 48 hours later I can still feel some of the side-effects. Maybe via patch leaves your body more quickly - I don't know
