Next plan of action 😬
« on: December 04, 2015, 10:21:06 AM »

Just had my telephone consultation and we decided that I should give the Mirena another go 😬 To say I'm nervous and worried would be an understatement.
The only problems I had on this before were bleeding/spotting and a few little pimple/bumps under the skin on my chin. I will also be using 2 pumps of Oestrogel or 2 sachets of Sandrena as this will stop (hopefully) any bleeding or spotting.
I'm praying that as the progesterone will be local and that I was ok mentally before on this and also Ovranettte which has the same prog that I will be ok? 😬

Well it sounds very promising to me, especially as your mood was okay when you had it in before?

I think if your mood is quite upbeat and stable then a few limples and a bit of spotting is a small price to pay. Keeping my fingers crossed for you xxx

Exactly what I said! I can put up with a few spots even bleeding as long as my mood is good! Fingers crossed!

Hi Chi Chi - I'm sure if you were OK on the Mirena before, then this will be fine again.  I would try just one pump of Oestrogel per day to start with and then increase after 4 weeks if your meno symptoms are not under control.  Building the amount you use gradually can be better and you may find you don't need to increase at all - I think you are less likely to get problematic bleeding doing it this way.  Do remember that it is normal to get some bleeding and spotting in the first few weeks after the Mirena is fitted.
Keep us posted.  Dg x

Thanks dancinggirl I hope so too, I just worry that last time was before my breakdown and anxiety happened, before all this "peri" stuff  ::) everything's just changed so much since then  :-\
Tried to arrange to have the Mirena at my dr's but they don't do it anymore so now I have to go to the sexual health clinic, have an assessment then make another appt to have it fitted  ::) I'll have prob changed my mind by then!

Good luck.  :). Sounds like a sensible plan. Remember DG's advice about small steps and not having too many pumps too soon. Do let us know how it goes x

Thanks Briony X
Not that I plan to but presumably I could go up to 4 pumps if I need to?
