Can you get the prescription back from Boots and try another pharmacy?

You could ask your GP to give you a prescription for Estriol cream to tide you over until you can get Ovestin again. It is the same, but less concentrated, so you have to use more (although the tube is much bigger and it all works out the same amount of oestriol).

Yes Jenna is right it virtually the same but you use far more so it is more messy. Oh hell I love my Ovestin Cream.

I ordered my prescription on-line on Monday - but didn't get told until this morning that it's in short supply.  Shouldn't GPs have a way of flagging this up and contacting patients to let us know ……….

CLKD - about a year ago I was fed up being told the pharmacy couldn't obtain Gynest Cream, and that they didn't know when they would be able to, so I googled it myself, only to find out that it was discontinued.  I was the one to make the pharmacy and GP aware of it - hard to believe I know. All I can say is where would we be without the internet!
