Advice needed
« on: December 02, 2015, 04:24:50 PM »

Hi all,
I am currently on a 1-14 days Utrogestan , constant Oestragel regime. For the last two months my period came 2 days before the end of finishing taking the Utrogestan. This month it's come a day before starting it, just two weeks after last period. I know it's hormonal because I have had a spell of spotty skin, mood changes, slight nausea, energy changes and hair changes(greasy then shiny). My question is do I still take the Utrogestan this month when I am already having a bleed? Do i take it so I don't mess up my regime? Also any clues why? is this regime not strong enough for my own hormones, in peri? on two pumps of gel currently. Sorry for lots of questions.

There is no knowing jedigirl - it seems that in peri-menopause anything can happen so it looks like you have probably ovulated so your own hormones have overriden the HRT as you say. I also can't say whether you should take the utrogestan - usually this would be recommended although I have read on here that some gynaes say that the progesterone from ovulation is sufficient to shed the uterus lining even with extra oestrogen. You could try to re-set your cycle and take it in two weeks ie count this bleed as Day 1 but then if your cycle is irregular - it might not work anyway! Unless you want to have a word with your doc/gynae I think my suggestions would be try to re-set your cycle.... sorry not to be of more help!
