Hormonal changes daily, is it possible
« on: November 06, 2015, 01:32:01 PM »

Does anybody think its possible to have hormonal changes on a daily basis. I'm having mental symptoms that change daily. One day ok not tearful, the next more tired, tearful and different tinnitus like a quiet scream in my head that signals I need sleep I think. I know I'm weird but this odd thing has only started with real onset of meno, I'm 17 weeks since last period and flushes come and go in phases too.

there was a (so called) funny on facebook the other day 'the seven dwarves of menopause' it had itchy, sweaty, angry, bloaty... cant remember the rest..

I commented on it, 'yes I can do that in a day' and a few others agreed with me.  So I guess the answer is YES.

Not only is it possible for hormones to change daily they change hourly and more, we do not always get symptoms with theses changes, but in perimenopause things are all over the place. Yesterday for about four hours I had that dreaded doom and depressed sort of feeling come on and then sitting talking with my mom and boom.......it just went away.......it is maddening!!!

I agree with PF. They can change on an hourly basis. :o I think that's one of the clues that it is hormones causing the issues and not something else. I've had days when I have felt on top of the world at lunchtime, really positive and relaxed - then by late afternoon I am lying on the bed, crushing fatigue and v anxious. These extremes have reduced a lot since I've taken additional hormones, but still exist occasionally.

That's why some doctors go by symptoms alone as blood tests are inconclusive.

It's a bit of a b***r but unfortunately true.

So if our hormones are up and down by the minute then maybe moods can be too.

Yep.  Hormones alter all the while which is why blood testing can be hit and miss.  We forget that there's adrenaline etc. as well as sexual hormones that keep us ticking over, usually without our being aware.

It definitely seems that hormones can fluctuate hourly. I used to have great mornings. Now (since a year or two back - I'm 46) I usually am at my worst in the am. I wake up with feelings of dread, have stomach issues, anxiety, etc. But I've noticed lately that I tend to feel better by afternoon. My stomach has calmed down and my mood is usually better. If this makes sense...?

It does.  How's your diet in the evening, maybe a round of toast or a banana before bed, slow release porridge? because we are usually not eating for at least 8 hours  ;)

It's difficult to have a life out side of home or work I think, especially if you have to take certain medication at certain times of the day and eat or avoid certain foods too, and with feeling ok one minute and crap the next, what with heartburn etc etc.

Sometime just going out is an effort, and I sometimes can't be bothered.

Anyone else feel same?

Menopause 5 years so far! My Mum never really had it!

My diet... Hrm, I tend to eat, and eat and eat from dinner until I go to bed... ;) Probably NOT the best strategy!

 ;D …….. that's OK if it's lettuce  ;)

Feeling unwell can be tiring which makes every thing I do an effort …….. even thinking about getting out of bed or what to wear  :-\

I remember too the crushing fatigue pre-menstrually.  HORMONES  >:(

Daily? Easily. In fact, mine used to (it's so wonderful to post in the past tense) change hourly, even half hourly.

I would swing from feeling absolutely fine and normal, to feeling filled with despair and hopelessness in the time it took to drink a cup of coffee. I honestly thought I was losingy mind at one point.

It's so nice to hear I'm not going mad and having a breakdown if others are experiencing the same as me  thinking it could be thyroid but no the blood test showed all  is ok so got to,be hormones why I feel ok one minute then down and feel everyone hates me and feel  depressed  the next I but I have had a lot of stress in The last 3months should I go to docs and tell them how I feel or should I try and get through it I am on hrt patches have been for 6 years and the doc said I have to come off them because of the risks so I am cutting them In half  for a while as you have to reduce slowly so I expect that will throw my hormones out even  more oh what a dilemma  :-
