Hi daisie - it's lovely to hear from you. Sorry you've had a difficult time, but at least it's all over now, as you say! Don't forget to take it easy and I hope you feel better very soon and that everything will be OK.

The air in your tummy hurts so much, as if the op wasn't sore enough. Do take care of yourself Daisie. Delegation is key to your recovery. Next week you'll feel a bit better & the week after that a bit more, just needs time.

You should have been warned 'what if' before he tried the keyhole
. My friend had 'enough wind to fly a kite' after hers

Hi daisie - when I had a similar wind problem, the nurses gave me peppermint powder (you can buy it from a health food shop) mixed in hot water. Maybe that could help if you are still suffering with it. I also had bad pain in my shoulder, which I was told was referred pain from the gas elsewhere (just saying in case you have similar).

Also - your bowel will be empty 'starved from mid-night'
apart from the wind there is nothing to pass until at least 36 hours after eating properly plus you won't have had much exercise. Feet up!

Daisie
I sympathise, had the worst wind pains ever 7 days after my hysterectomy , they do go away but I dreaded them starting. You will feel washed out , your body needs time to heal, Floradix is good to help build you up again . Lots of rest and lots of daytime tv, - radio 4 is better, xx
