I'd a search on the internet fro recommendations. When my Hotpoint washing machine died I bought a Bosch and hated it so John Lewis let me change it to a Hotpoint.  The new Hotpoint is not as good as the old one was. Nothing seems to be made that well any more - the new energy saving features seem to muck everything up and make it so complicated.  The washer dryers are never as good as they are trying to do too much and the drying bit wears the machine out quicker.  Good luck - I wish I could recommend something - I'd go int o John Lewis and ask advice.  DG x

I wouldn't buy a washer/dryer as you can only use 1 bit at a time  ::) - better to have a stand alone washing machine (think mine's a Zanussi but would need to look) which has a 1400 spin ….. and I use the line outdoors on fine days.  My friend has a tumble drier but we've never bothered.

I couldn't live without my tumble dryer. Mine lives in the garage. I don't like the combined ones either. Too small a drum and takes too long to get things dry.

I rarely dry towels on the line....they are hard and not fluffy, and I like a fluffy towel  ::)

Zanussi for me.....never let me down.
