Comforting Chocolate
« on: August 22, 2015, 02:06:47 PM »

Hi ladies
On another thread I've been sharing my woes over the withdrawal bleed on HRT.  Basically I'm getting a lot of nasty cramps!!
I decided my best medicine was something chocolaty so I've got a chocolate cake in the oven and it smells wonderful. Will I be able to wait till it has cooled down and I've done the filling or will I just dive in and consume the lovely moist sponge on it's own? Licking the bowl was heaven and I already feel much better.
Does anyone else find chocolate a wonderful cure-all ? Do you have anything else that gives you comfort?

Well, I have to report that my chocolate cake has done it's magic and I do feel much better.
Maybe chocolate should be on prescription from the NHS ? DG x

Having a withdrawal bleed too and have just consumed a small dairy free bar of chocolate, almost but not quite as good as the real thing!

I used to love a bar of chocolate - too much sometimes - but I haven't had any for a while as it does upset my stomach the next day. Shame. I did tend to blame it solely on the type of bread I was eating.. hoped it was the bread I was eating.. but, no, it was definitely the chocolate. Dairy Milk is the worst - more soya content since they changed it apparently! Humph!
