overwhelming fatigue !
« on: July 30, 2015, 04:58:38 PM »

Today I've experienced overwhelming fatigue,I know I've had a few late nights recently but this I'm sure is more than that ! It's just like someone has drugged me ! Has anyone else had this just out of the blue ? Feeling slightly nauseous too. It even feels too much effort to turn my head .It's not cycle related as I'm only using estrogen at the moment so can't explain it can anyone else ?  :-\

Crashing fatigue?  I remember my Mum suddenly sitting down half way through the day and dropping off to sleep.  It is awful ………..

Oh gods, yes. Not aided by the poor sleep, but yes; I can very easily be hit by a tsunami of fatigue, just wanting to sit and fall asleep, even if I have a relatively (and all things are) good night and feel ok. It comes out of nowhere!

I've had this for years. Just having a shower seems like a mountain to climb. It's why I had to give up work. HRT has helped up to a point, which shows there is a hormonal element.

Wading through treacle.  But when my brain needs to sleep, I'm gone! at least I don't get the aching and heaviness now.  I had that during my menstruating days  >:( ……….

I just keep plodding on with no sympathy from anyone.

My hubby is a funny soul. He is very stoic and never complains about anything so over the years I have kind of taken my lead from him. I say nothing.

Just for example...I really hurt my back yesterday. He was there, he saw how much pain I was in. He was sympathetic for ...oh about ten minutes, it's never been mentioned by him again.
I could moan, but I don't, I just keep on going but it's seems that's the excepted thing to do.

It can be a lonely place at times.

He did say today as I struggled to stand up.....oh your backs better isn't it.....really.....do you actually look at me. I doubt he really does hence feeling lonely.

Sorry....moan over.

Yep.  Once I've had the initial moan unless I repeat the moan the next day it's rarely mentioned again  ::)

But when I sleep if DH tries to wake me he gets  :cuss: and  :kick:

Doubt mine would notice.

My daughter does notice and cares. Not saying hubby doesn't but he has always been the same. Unless you have something falling off, are bleeding profusely or are vomiting rings around yourself it's not serious enough to even notice.

Probably worth a visit to doctor if you have never suffered with it before , just to rule out other issues apart from our age which can cause this,

Moan away to us on here, HB!   What you did to your back sounds really sore.  Don't suffer in silence, anyway.  Would it be worthwhile going to your GP about it, if the pain lasts?

Thanks Dulciana.

It's not nice though. When there is something wrong with them we generally fuss. One way street it would seem.
I think I'm really quite hurt with his attitude this time.

Hi

Yes I had this several times last week. Eyes felt so heavy and just wanted to nap all day, despite having had a good night's sleep.

I was confused though because just like you it was while I was on the patch only part of my HRT?

Don't understand it? Unless it was something to do with my hormones under the surface?

Oh my husband is the same. If I mention I am seeing my GP he never asks me why? Same if I'm ill, which luckily is rare. I might get an initial cuddle and perhaps a cup of tea but after that I'm expected to just get on with it.

He has been very sympathetic over my hormonal anxiety and low mood. Lots of hugs and he has 'listened' to me. But then again, I have kept a lot of it to myself too.

Sorry your back is hurting HB. Often alternating hot/cold compress can help.

I used to keep quiet, but have explained things to DH. He is wonderfully supportive these days, but maybe because he is in a good place now he is retired. He tells me to relax and stop beating myself up for not having the wherewithal to get the things I have planned to do done. He wasn't so brilliant when he was stressed when he was working. Maybe when people are dealing with their own issues they have less to give to others?

I get the same level of fatigue - can sleep all day if not working and then all night too; I am sure it is hormone related.  I always get it when on my pill break, but also occasional while taking the pill - it's always linked to other hormonal symptoms, which is why I am very sceptical that BCP completely overrides my natural cycle.  E.g. I have recently had two days of crashing fatigue along with minor spotting and cramps, even though I was in the middle of my pill packet.  Had the same problem pre-peri, but the tiredness wasn't so extreme.
