Coronation Street Star Hormonal Related Breakdown
« on: July 21, 2015, 10:14:42 AM »

I came across this story yesterday http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/beverley-callard-coronation-street-depression-5970568

It may have already been posted on this board (and apologies if it has been) but I was really struck by her comment about her illness being hormone related:

“And I am still on medication – an anti-depressant and HRT because it was thought my illness may have been hormone related."

Oh that's interesting to read. There's another soap star, blonde, often in Loose Women, Denise 'something' who suffered terrible PND and then years later developed awful menopause depression. I think she was treated by Prof. Stuff?

I always think that Marian Keynes probably suffered with hormonal related breakdown/depression too. So much if what she describes rings very true to me and is very similar to the symptoms I had.

I have read Beverley Callards story, totally shocking it was. Its Dennise Welsh off Loose women she balmes her post natal depression on hormones too.
My take on this is, if hormones are powerful enough to make a baby then this is why they can destroy us too.

Dr Kathleen (?) did lots of research into Pre-menstrual Syndrome and represented a girl in Court who had killed her mother during a hormone induced rage.
