I have changed from an estrogen only pill to a patch I was doing ok but then got real bad stomach problems with it, I am feeling much better with the cramps gone from my stomach but seem to have had a few bad headaches and I never suffer with these.I also have a bad pain in my left leg at the top it feels very sore is this normal when you first start the patch x

It can take a while to settle onto a new HRT Anjia. Which patch are you on. I have bloating and discomfort with Evorel but not with FemSeven although they both seem to contain the same product!  Not sure about the leg.

Im on ellesstte solo 40mg Taz Its this strange pain in my leg it just feels very sore like Ive banged it but I haven't I changed the patch this morning on to my left bum cheek and the pain is in my left leg strange?

I'm on my 2nd try of elleste solo pill to patch .  Have been on 2mg for years and few months back tried to 80patch, huge migraine so had to take it off, Thursday tried again with half patch (=40) and so far ok, it's worth asking someone medical or a pharmacist maybe? Is it listed as a side effect ?

Its hard to tell Annie as it says calf pain but this is a nagging pain at the top of my leg .It seems to be easing now so I hope it just fades.I was doing well on the tablet such a pain .

I've been plagued with headaches lately (not sure whether it's meno or my eye problem) but I read on here I'm sure that patch is better for headaches than pill, I'm going to try to slowly increase to full patch

 Indications for non-tablet route.

    Individual preference.
    Poor symptom control with tablet HRT.
    Side effects such as nausea with tablet.
    Bowel disorder which may affect absorption of tablet therapy.
    History of migraine (when steadier hormone levels which may be achieved with a patch may be beneficial).
    Lactose sensitivity (all tablet preparations of HRT contain lactose).
    History of gallstones.
    Current use of medications such as anti-epileptic medication which may interfere with the break-down of tablet HRT.
    Variable blood pressure.
    High triglyceride levels.
    Risk factors, family history or past history of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolus, after full discussion and specialist advice when necessary.

Unfortunately I still get migraines despite always having been on patch HRT so for me there must be another cause - can't work out what yet though

many of my headaches aren't responding to pain killers which baffles me but when OH and I were shopping to see what else I could try we bought 4Head, the menthol rub on stick, it certainly is helping and brought back memories of my mum using a similar product along with smelling salts !

I was a cynical about 4Head but it really helps, doesn't it? Strangely, patches made my head worse but moving to the pill has,  so far - touch wood - eased matters. No migraine and less horrible headaches. I think it's because the pill is preventing the fluctuations/impact of my own hormones which  I still had with patches   X

It surprised me that it helps, it usually at least keeps the pain to a manageable level
