Hello Ladies.
I thought I'd update you on my latest experiences as they may be of help to others.
I am five years post meno and have been using Evorel Conti 50 mcg patches for just over three months. I am definitely feeling better and was hoping for continued improvement but two weeks ago I suddenly had a lot of spotting and when I mentioned this to my GP she referred me for a Hysteroscopy. I had the procedure last week and everything looks okay although I am still waiting for the biopsy report.
While I was waiting for the appointment I started to reduce the size of my patch and the spotting lessened quite a lot so I think I will continue to do this and hopefully reach a point where I can be on the smallest patch possible to control symptoms but without spotting. Another thing I learned is that some ladies at the hospital took pain relief just before their examination to help ease any discomfort. I didn't know this but I took some paracetamol afterwards and the tender sensation I was left with disappeared after an hour. Talking about pain relief, the staff told me that they had one lady who downed a tumbler of Rum while she was 'being seen to' and didn't feel a thing! She said her husband was ex navy and had told her that Rum is an excellent pain killer!
I hope all this is of interest to some of you ladies and if I learn anything else that may help I will certainly pass it on.
Wishing everyone well.
K.
