Anyone see Heather Watson, our British girl.

She played out of her socks and just didn't make it but she gave Serena a run.

So disappointed she didn't win but one of the best matches I have seen in years.

Wow!
I don't watch tennis but hubby was watching and I became hooked...absolutely fantastic! !
She certainly gave Serena a worry!

I would have loved her to beat Serena.

I'm gutted.

She played so very well but just not quite enough. I watched it over dinner and I've now got indigestion. Jumping up and down and shouting obviously does nothing for the digestive system  ;D

Same here HB, dinner took a lot longer tonight!
I was so willing her to win!
Serena didn't even sign autographs. ..seems arrogant to me.

Her cage was well and truly rattled. I think she thought it was going to be a walk over and it was anything but.

Now Serena plays her sister. I'm convinced in the past they had a toss up to see who would win.

As you can probably tell I'm not a Williams fan  ::)

And how about the guy that beat Nadal. Boy I hope he keeps on going. He has no coach and no trainer and lives in a camper van   :o

It was a great match and like everyone else I was willing Heather to win. She certainly did herself proud and must be a talent for the future. She showed such self control in comparison to Serena's dramatics, screaming etc, don't think I can bear to watch the Williams sisters playing each other, I don't care for either of them. Glad too that Dustin beat Nadal, it's refreshing to see some new talent on display plus I love his dreadlocks!!I'm not usually bothered about the first week of Wimbledon but with the hot weather keeping us at home more DH and I have watched some really exciting matches and he's not usually a tennis fan. Andy Murray still to come.

I love Andy, my son looks just like him... ::)
But it's never an easy thing to do as there is always drama.

Yes that's him...Dustin Brown. What a traditional player, a blast from the past with his style.

I don't know who he is playing next but I will be watching.

I saw it and I was just like Honeybun, jumping up and down from the dinner table.  When it got to 3-0 in the final set we took our dinner into the sitting room on our laps.  I had palpitations by the end of it (the tennis not my sausages).  Heather can hold her head high.  I dislike Serena Williams and am glad she had to work hard for her win.

;D  I agree Purplenanny ………. Pity our Girl didn't beat Serena hopefully she won't be too disappointed.

As for the guy with dreadlocks, there was a super photo in one of the daily papers taken as he shook his head and from behind the locks somehow ……..

I think the Old Guard are on their way out, having arrived in similar style - time for the new Studs to arrive  ;)

We were lucky enough to have been there ! The crowd really got to Serena ,must be very daunting though when practically everyone is is against you. At times I was cringing it really isn't cricket as they say to cheer a mistake !  ::)

We saw it up until half way through 2nd set as we were heading out for a meal. In pub later we saw the rest of it. My SIL & I were jumping up & down. Such a shame Heather lost out, but shows she can play with the big names & hold her own. Well done to her!

She has shown what she is capable of, she is just beginning to come into her own.  The new generation of stars is emerging.

Not sure about Dustin, think he could be a nine days wonder and disappear as strangely as he arrived
