Hi Dandelion

You should not have to buy your prescription privately if your local pharmacy has run out - and I agree that perhaps you could see if they or any others have 50 mcg in stock.

Also there is an organisation called Chemist Direct from where you can get NHS prescriptions - not sure of the cost or whether it's just like any other pharmacy - I believe so. You send them your prescription ( not the repeat slip but the actual prescription) and they send you the stuff. That's not to say they will have it in stock either but worth a try? Maybe phone or e-mail them?

Also you should see a doctor about your bowels if it is this bad - have you been checked out and tested as to what's causing it? I do not see persistent severe diahorrea as normal.

It may be that 1 side effect of the medication is that it helps possible anxiety induced 'runs', or maybe the anal sphincter is not as tight as it ought to be in order for the nerves there to control bowel movements.  Has it been checked recently?  You have a lot 'going on' so any anxiety bowel action can become a nuisance!

I would not buy from the internet unless my GP/Pharmacist told me that the site was 'safe', i.e. medication has been sourced from a recognised Manufacturer.  Neither should a Company send medications if there isn't a Prescription seen prior to accepting the money!

Received, now wearing the lovely mascara and perfume gift you put in the package, thank you, with love from me.x

BTW for anyone else experiencing problems getting evorel, the prescription clerk at our surgery told me that there had been a road strike in the country where evorel comes from, but it is now resolved and supplies should be here at the back end of this week, thur or fri.

I am on contributory based Employment Support Allowance, which the government are threatening to abolish, leaving me with not enough to pay housing costs and bills.

Dandelion I know this is a bit off topic - but I was thinking about you this morning when they were talking on the Today programme about the budget. The comment was made that cuts to benefits would only apply to new claimants, not to those already in receipt of the benefit. Fingers crossed.

There often seems to be intermittent supply problems with HRT products.

There was a point when I couldn't get FemSeven Conti; my GP gave me Oestrogel pumps and Utro 100, which wasn't great for me. Compared to putting a patch on your bottom once a week it also seemed labourious.

Doing something 21 times a week, gel twice a day and a pill a day compared to doing something once a week was a dramatic change in routine for me.

I like to forget I am on HRT, so the less intervention the better.

On reflection I should have asked for Evorel Conti, but was worried about the northisterone.

I road it out and the FemSeven came back into stock, but I know how it can spook you out when you can't get what you and your body is used to so I fully sympathise Dandelion.

I think Merck either had production problems or distribution problems, I never really got to the bottom of it, but was grateful when whatever the issue was became sorted.

I'm glad you are sorted now Dandelion.

There are on-line chemists where you can order HRT without a prescription also in Spain and in France you can buy HRT in the Pharmacias.

I bought a tube of Ovestin estriol cream in Spain once as I had forgotten mine at home, when I was on my holidays and didn't want to risk a flare up.
