Indivina anyone ??
« on: June 03, 2015, 10:31:29 PM »

To cut a long story short I am on my 6th type of HRT !! :'(
I have been trying to tell my doctor for some time that I am definately progesterone intolerant.  I have only been able to establish this through the information I get from here, it has been a life saver to me.  I thought doctors went to Med school to study medicine and when I told her about other therapies recommended on here she had not heard of half of them and couldn't find them in her book!

It was a battle trying to convince her that my symptoms with progesterone were not meno symptoms !

She has now prescribed me with Indivina 2/5 cont combined never heard of this until today and am really scared to get the prescription as I cannot bare the thought of all the horrible side effects I have had with all the other HRT's.

Has anyone got any feedback or comments that they can share with me on this type of HRT, I would really really appreciate it.

Thank you

Sometimes we have to really push to be listened to!

Have you browsed the menus, top of screen ? to see if the product is listed?

before Femseven Patch I was on femoston Conti 1/10 combined this suited me quite well but i still had bad hot flushes so doctors prescribed 1MG estridol with this but I was worried about the progestorone level as I thought if you increase one you would need to increase the other and the only other femeston is 2/10, I didn't want to opt for this because I don't want the monthly bleed, don't see the point seen, I have not had one for 4 years if not more !

The mixture of the 2 was good but didn't completely illiminate the hot flushes so that's why was prescribed Femseven patch - terrible side effects, now prescribed Indivina but know nothing about it!

GP doesn't seem to know enough about HRT - its crazy don't know what the heck to do  :'(

Was thinking about going back on Femoston with the extra oestrogen.

Not taken anything since Monday and feeling better in myself but symptoms are creeping back already !

Oh I haven't got any info on this but just wanted to send you a hug - I'm on my second HRT and I can't imagine having to go through 6 types.  Are you able to request a different doctor with knowledge of menopause? If not, perhaps send an email to Dr Curry on this board and then show that information to your doctor?
I really feel for you

Hi Jobo

You can't just send a message as such - it's a consultation costs £25. It tells you how to do it on the front page:
http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/index.php It's charged to your phone. I did this once (it used to be £15!) and definitely worth it! I needed the info to counter something my GP was telling me to do.

The odd thing about the prog dose with Femoston is that the dose of prog for the cyclical Femoston (1/10) is the same as for 2/10 which is double the oestrogen dose, so maybe it is fine to take more oestrogen with this tablet - but good idea to check with Dr Currie.  I presume you meant Femoston conti, not 1/10 that you were on - 1/10 is the bleed type?

With Indivina the oestrogen is slightly different and the progestogen is something called MPA - also different from the one in Femoston but perhaps worth a try? Progesterone intolerance is quite strange and seems to be very individual, especially re some of the synthetic types - some women only experience side effects from certain ones and not others.

Good luck!
