Advice on new combi HRT please
« on: June 01, 2015, 12:24:22 PM »

Hi

Just to update you and request your advice please.

As you know I changed from 3/4 pumps of Oestrogel with separate7 day Progesterone to Angeliq oral HRT. Well since starting the Angeliq the vertigo has improved and I'm not as anxious. Just started my new pack (week 5) on Saturday.

Down side with this HRT is constant nausea, and since yesterday feel very low (depressed) don't want to move. My question is should I stick with it??? as the vertigo/off balance feeling got so bad I was becoming Agoraphobic..........

Anyone else had similar experience with this or other combined HRT. I don't want to keep changing just want my life back :)

Sorry to hear about this warwick. Maybe give it a while longer to get used to the side effects. Oral HRT is more likely to cause nausea which is why many women who suffer in this way are advised to change to transdermal HRT.  I'm not familiar with that progestogen and what the side effects are but I gather that like dydrogesterone, it is one of the least androgenic of the synthetic progestogens ie least like testosterone so no side effects of this nature. let's hope the side effects settle and you haven't swapped one set of symptoms for another.

One thing I would say is that it's a low dose oestrogen (1 mg) so if you've changed from a higher dose - which I think you have) then this could have an impact on your mood too.

Hi Hurdity

Thank you for your response. In some ways I feel better esp the dizziness but like you say, other side effects have raised their head. I really want to get well and have some kind of life.

I have accepted a new job and due to start in 4 weeks. I have apt with my GP on Friday which may result in AD. To be honest I will try anything. Previously I have been worried about keep going to see the GP as I feel a nuisance. No more, I am at the point where I will keep trying until I find the answers
