Switching from patches to tablets
« on: May 30, 2015, 07:06:41 AM »

Does anyone know if I can just take a patch off and go back to taking my hrt tablets? My patch isn't adhering and I'm having awful anxiety attacks and palpitations. Only had the patch on for 2 days but thinking I shouldn't have switched from the tablets. Very confused !

I don't know about switching, but I find that warming the patch up by covering with my palm for a minute or two after putting it on usually ensures it stays in place. Some makes of patches stay in place more successfully than others anyway. Which patch have you been prescribed?

I found the patches a bit tricky to stick for the first couple of times Cwtch but find them to be no problem now - they stick well and have to be peeled off when replaced. Much the same as Ju Ju, I press the patch in my hand for a few moments to warm it, then once in place, hold the base of my palm over it for thirty seconds. I've not been using them long but have got it off to a fine art now (which is good for me as I'm Mrs impractical!)

Thanks for replies. I felt so bad I rang NHS direct & spoke to doctor. He suggested taking off patch and waiting until tomorrow morning then starting on my original tablets again. The tablets are Estelle duet. The patches are called femsevenconti. Just can't copy with the anxiety attacks!
