A few months ago I had some really odd skin sensations. One of them was the sensation of a bug crawling up my leg or a loose thread from my clothes tickling me. But everytime I looked - nothing.... The other odd sensation was a patch on my left thigh where I would daily get a burning sensation. Both of these things are thankfully gone now, but is this also a possible peri symptom???

I have had the crawling sensation, i am post meno and on patches. I don't get it often and i am sure the hrt helps keep in under control. Not had the burning sensation, but i do get an area that becomes itchy often neck or chin with no obvious reason for this.

Yep.  That cold water feeling down the limbs is also a nuisance  ……… so not weird, within normal limits!

Me too   Because I am partially sighted I often mis read things and for some reason I always misread it with a "rude" word and then do a double take and smile to myself.

  I get that cold water feeling on one of my knees, on the inside, I had to keep checking as I thought it was bleeding or something! Also used to feel a bit numb too though haven't had either for a while now

My scalp is constantly tingling and goes down my shoulder blades. Is driving me mad xx

Thank you ! I googled "formication" (not fornication - I don't even want to think about what results I would have gotten from googling THAT! ) and noted that it could also be a burning sensation. What is the cause? Too little hormones or too much? This month I don't know what's happening with me... Lots of mucus/discharge (have otherwise been pretty dry for months), ithcy/tender breasts, have slept better, etc. Am I going to have a GIANT period this time??? It's been superlight for months and months. Haven't had the "spider" or "burning" sensation in a while either.

Yep, me too. Was really scary the first time I had it. It was one of the clues that prompted a neurologist to think I had hormonal problems (he said the 'ants across shoulder/head/where ever' are a classic peri/menopause sign). Mine has lessened since upping the amount of oestrogen I take, but instead, I now get random itching - can be anywhere and sometimes everywhere. Anyone else?

I can itch in weird places too. Current place is my jaw line just under my ear! strange x
