In Pain - Ouch!
« on: May 11, 2015, 09:38:01 PM »

Now in my 5th week of HRT. It's definitely kicking in. My sleeping has been so much better over the last 2 weeks. My mood has improved massively. Not even had a twinge of the random anxieties.

I did have quite a sharp headache for 5 days straight but I think that was just the HRT rolling up its sleeves and getting to work. At the same time I noticed I had developed a dull, nagging ache in my right arm. Mainly centered in my elbow but sometimes spasming down in my little finger and up into my shoulder blade.

Well the headache has been gone for a week, but my right arm is still aching. It's really uncomfortable at times. It also feels like there's too much pressure in my right arm. Just a really odd sensation.

Anyone else had anything similar? My friend tells me she had exactly the same thing when she started on HRT 10 years go, which must be more than a coincidence.

Hi
I've had exactly same thing but didn't relate it. I've been of hrt for 2 weeks and the shoulder and elbow discomfort has improved a long with the headaches. Unfortunately the flushes coming back so will need to find another hrt! Which one you taking? That's so strange you have that too! Sounds exactly same

I mentioned my arm pain to a friend yesterday, and apparently she had exactly the same thing when she started HRT. She went back to her GP several times worried it was a sign of an impending heart attack. He had no idea what was causing it. It faded eventually but it took weeks.

Having said that, mine feels much better this morning. But last night was really uncomfortable. My whole arm felt like it was swollen (it wasn't) and like pressure was building up in it too much. Sharp twinges in my elbow too.

Sparkle - my shoulder was feeling very clicky too. And thinking back I do remember a stiff neck a while back? Not sure if it's all connected? I can't tell you how much better I feel overall though. I just desperately wish I had been diagnosed correctly over a year ago. I have suffered for a whole year completely needlessly.

Sphere - I take Estradot 25mg and separate Utrogestan 200mg on days 15-26. It just seems coincidental that the arm/shoulder pain started at exactly the same time as I had a 5 day headache - which was exactly when I started to feel that HRT was kicking in.

But I thought HRT was meant to do away with the aches and pains?

Muscle and Joint Pain With Hypothyroidism

http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/muscle-joint-pain.htm

Hi All

Often our thyroid starts to loose the plot in and around the same time as our ovaries.
So if your on HRT and you've still got muscle and joint pain then chances are both are slowing down.

Sorry :-\
