My GP mentioned this as an option to ADs for anxiety.

I have never heard of it. Does anyone take it and how well is it tolerated ?

It's one of the less common ones but used short term for anxiety I believe? A friend's husband was prescribed it when he was suffering from dreadful panic attacks. It did work but he was only allowed it for a few weeks to get him over the worst. There's info here but, like all of them, there may be side effects when you first start. http://www.patient.co.uk/medicine/buspirone-for-anxiety
