Oestrogen making me feel stoned and giggly.

Just finished my first withdrawl bleed last Tuesday on sequi HRT (Estradot 25mg and Utrogestan for days 15-26).

Had been feeling fine before my bleed. Sleep was good. Anxiety gone. Felt calm. But as soon as my bleed arrived, my mood crashed and the insomnia came back with a vengeance. This went on right through out my bleed and until 2 days after it finished.

But since Thursday night my mood has been rising and rising. 2 great nights of sleep. Feel so relaxed it's almost like being stoned. Feel quite giggly and like I'm not quite safe to drive a car. I'm not complaining, as I feel great. I remember being like this when I ovulated back in the day.

I'm assuming my body is just loving the extra dose of oestrogen from my patch??? Does anyone else get this, and does your body adjust after a while? If this carries on I'm not going to get anything done in the house or at work  ;D

I wish I was stoned and giggly!! No never had this on hrt.

Nope me neither. If I have too much oestrogen I get jittery but not in a good way.

Think you are the first with this one.

No one has slipped anything in your tea have they  ;D

Yep , had the giggles at inappropriate moments on the oestrogen phase . I quite like the happy feeling, I would rather that than feel ill and exhausted.
I'm Near the end of my first half of the pack and feeling headachy and exhausted today, but my mood is ok (that's what makes me think I need stronger oestrogen) so onto progesterone and oestrogen next week.
I am glad to have my happy self back, if only intermittently. Maybe it's the contrast from the lows that make it more noticeable?

Something in the local water supply - all queuing up at the village well, giggling  :D  ::)

Don't do too much once you begin to feel more energy!

Feel calmer today.

I experienced exactly the same 'stoned' sensations  when I ovulated prior to HRT. But only for this last year. Never had it before then.

I wonder if it was because I no longer had enough oestrigen during the month, and felt so grim, that the few days of better oestrogen when I ovulated felt so good in contrast?

It's a shame I can't wear a 50mg patch during my bleed and for a couple of days afterwards then revert back to 25mg.

No idea CLKD. If it does I'll probably make the sniffer dogs in Heathrow very suspicious as I go through departures ;D

Oh I wish it had had that effect on me. Didn't feel bad, but stoned & giggly would have been brilliant.  ;D

I don't understand the science behind it, but I assume it's just my body being very grateful for the extra oestrogens?

Just before this peri menopause nastiness I experienced the exact same sensations when I ovulated. Very weird. Lovely though.
