low estrogen ??
« on: March 07, 2015, 04:13:22 PM »

I know we are all different ......   ;)

But was just wondering if you ladies on hrt could help me ,

Is anyone 55 or over on more than 1 mg of estrogen ,really beginning to think I need to go up from what I am on which is femoston conti 1/5 I know it is supposed to be the kindest progesterone but I still feel lousy! Thinking that my own levels must be rock bottom now ,did well on 1 mg Estelle duet for 5 years but that was 5 years ago  :-\ If most are on 2 mg maybe I should do better on that ... any thoughts ?

If you are feeling generally good on Femoston then it suits you, however, to get better symptom relief you would need to a higher dose and to stay on the same hormone preparation you would need to move to a sequential form of Femoston (so have a withdrawal bleed).  If you look under peri meno preparations you will see that Femoston Sequi comes in  2/10.
You could try moving to oestrogen in gel or patch form and use Utrogestan as an alternative.

That's the problem don't feel good on it ,did OK for 2 months and now feel just terrible! Specialist is away until 18th so can't do anything until then, was picking up a bit but bleed has just started and feel  awful again ,could be because of that or continuously taking progesterone so stuck til he gets back !  :-\ :-\ : :-\-*

There doesn't seem like much hope for me then dazned as I'm thinking of starting the even lower dose! Hope your specialist sorts you out.
Does anyone know what  Gonadomimetic means? It's on this site under the postmenopause section for hrt preparations - tibolone. I've pasted it in below.

LIVIAL* (TIBOLONE)   gonadomimetic synthetic preparation with weak estrogenic, progestogenic & androgenic properties
£10.56

It doesn't quote any mg or mcg but seems to have less long term health effects.
