Pain in fingers and toes.
« on: March 05, 2015, 07:14:17 PM »

Hi, for the last few years, I get pain in one of my fingers or toes, that feels like an open cut inside, yet there is nothing to see. It hurts when I put pressure on it or try to perform tasks involving the finger or walking if it involves a toe. The pain persists for a few weeks then goes, only to start elsewhere. Anyone experience this or have an idea what's going on?

Rheumatism due to to the damp cold weather.

Have you tried a good fish oil supplement or some glucosamine.

Can't think what else it would be.

I am full of aches and pains just now and my skin is suffering too.

We need some sunshine.

I've got pain in index finger of right hand & base of thumb of left hand. Thankfully toes OK so far.

I take Omega3 capsules, but not sure it's made much difference.

It's not too much of a problem until it interferes in a task. At the moment, washing my back in the shower is painful, but now I know it will subside in a few weeks. I've had eczema on my hands, since I was a baby, which now only erupts in cold weather. It feels like an eczema cut and it always surprises me when there is nothing to see on the surface. Fortunately, it doesn't affect my toes too often, which results in hobbling and avoiding going for walks. It's not bad enough to seek help, but I would like to know what is going on.

I've had painful index fingers and big toes as part of my low oestrogen symptoms :)

Some related to bone eg knuckle, bending my big toe. The other was just generalised pain inside my finger.
Thankfully when my HRT levels are good, the pain goes away.

Hope you find something to help :D

Thank you salad. As I am over 60, it wouldn't be a good idea to increase the low dose oestrogen, but I suspect if I was younger it would help to up the dose. Still it helps to know that it is likely to be hormone related.
