dose - advice please x
« on: February 26, 2015, 08:16:43 PM »

hi,

I have probably asked a similar question before but..........

on Wednesday I was told to stop the 2mg climavel and 50 evorel (estrogen only ) and start the 100 evorel patch.  Wednesday I felt good, and today I felt good and I mean very good, no nausea, headaches, blurred vision went felt more like me. then today at around 4pm I stated to fell like I had had 10 cups of coffee!! with anxiety, palps, and a little fidgety and wanting to eat lots of cheese!! that has worn off some what now but still feel like ive had maybe 4 cups of coffee!!

is this just because ive changed dose/patch?  the DR didnet think I was absorbing the tablet.  I don't have any bresat pain etc.  I am guessing this is a 'high' fluctuation, will it settle down do you think? ive heard that estrogen can be an 'upper' but that everyone has to come down sooner or later.  How long do you think it will tke to settle? 1-2 weeks? or shall I just cut it to 75 now??????

sorry for all the questions

I had too laugh there, I can't help with patch dose but I know what you mean by the cups of coffee feeling. I upped my dose of Femoston to 2/10 few weeks ago and I'm getting that feeling. I can be sitting quite relaxed and then want to get up and do ... Well I don't know just adrenaline fidgety feeling, and at night I'm just stuck in the fridge nibbling stuff, anything! I'm s skinny Minnie do it will do me world of good but I'm not getting full up. X

I am sure we are on the same journey lol. I was wired to the moon on just 75mcg. At 50 mcg but headaches are unbearable bi painkillers touching it. With my record I can't really advise you but sending hugs. Zoladex not what I expected! I need reassurance constantly that I am doing things right thing. Being a healthcare professional this is so embarrassing x

Oh I was the same with too much oestrogen.....only I felt really sick too. It was as if everything on the inside was racing. I was convinced my hand should be trembling....steady as a rock but on the inside ...heavens above. I took my patch off and waited till things calmed down before I started again.....at the lower dose. Me and too much oestrogen just don't match.

I'm quite liking the energy boost effect I'm getting. Things are getting done now around the house and I'm like a jibberish budgie talking to anyone lol x

Lowering dose is so hard aroused feeling better headaches unbearable. My biggest worry is have I reduced too much. I am being irrational and panic at everything. Hurdity how long until dose will stop decreasing so I know if it is still high? My back is burning hoping it's the fluctuations. Came home from work yesterday and just sobbed and appetite gone x

Sazduggs and donnacrichton

You know it's so difficult for any of us to advise in your situation - both on Zoladex am I right? Your body is in hormonal shock and I don't know what endocrine changes are going on as your body adjusts. If I recall correctly you are both being plunged into medical menopause so what you are feeling is different from what most of us experience as we head towards menopause and when we take HRT.

I know nothing about this but I would guess from what I've read that others have reported (from surgical menopause including ovary removel) that it takes the body a long time to adjust to its new state and adding oestrogen in the form of HRT is trying to normalise things - but it is not the same as our making our own endogenous ( internal) oestrogen.

Donna - 50 mcg patch is a low dose for someone who has little other oestrogen - I am on this dose at 61. Even though it is impossible to say how women will react to a high oestrogen dose and this will be different for different women - 50 mcg is most definitely not high and will put you nowhere near the high doses experienced around the time of ovulation.

I would suggest you need really expert advice here because even 75 mcg should not be too high. That is not to say that you won't experience symptoms of high oestrogen as your body adjusts to the new way it is obtaining oestrogen, but both your situations are unusual so best to contact the gynaes whom you are under really.

So sorry to hear about your headaches - that must be tough.

Sorry I can't be of more help but just thinking aloud really!

Thanks hurdity,

Lovely advice. My gynae is on holiday until Tuesday but I see him for my 3 month check up on 12th, I'm just an impatient person!!  ::). I'd rather feel over stimulated than depressed any day. As mine has only been for the last few days (upped on Wednesday) I'm pretty sure it's because it needs to settle, holding my breath incase I crash to low again!!

I'm so glad I have a son not a daughter!

I have hit a low from yesterday. I am also impatient so my levels are all over the place. I hate zolidex it has made things much worse. I am struggling to make work and feel a complete failure as can't seem to stick to one dose. Estradot was supposed to make it more even .
