Hi. I posted on here last week as just started taking HRT age 40. I started on Friday and have felt ok until last night and today. I have terrible cramping in my legs and generally ache all over. I would be grateful for advice. Im currently taking in the morning.

Lots of bugs doing the rounds this time of year. Just had a cold and was aching a bit with that too.
All good in the last few days again and nothing to do with my HRT :)

No its def not a bug. Can anyone tell me if they were referred to a specialist clinic by their doctor regarding early menopause? I have researched and see there is clinics. I am just worried i am not getting best advice from my doctor.

Gps are not specialized in these things and therefore not always the best option really,so by all means tell them you want to be referred to a special clinic if you have one near to you or a gynecologist who has an interest in hormones ,you can look consultant up in your local hospital .

I wouldn't worry too much. Looking back, I think the symptoms I had in the first few weeks of HRT were actually signs of low estrogen rather than the effects of the HRT (I didn't realise it at the time and panicked). For the HRT to have an impact, I think you really need to give it a few months at least. If you can't find a clinic locally, have you thought about paying the £25 for an email conversation on here? x
