Sore breasts after 8 months of Premique - why now?
« on: February 23, 2015, 08:34:42 AM »

I've been taking Premique low dose for about 8 months now.  It helps with my symptoms but I do still get hot at night, just not as bad.  However the strange thing is that in the last 2 weeks I have developed sore/sensitive breasts (both are affected).  This seems to have coincided with more problems at night.  I haven't gone back to the full blown night sweats but my sleep is quite disturbed.
My GP pretty much refuses to put me on the stronger version due to the risks and to be honest I would rather not be on the strong dose.  I'm going to be moving house - long distance, in about 6 weeks so need all the energy and sleep I can get but know that even if I persuaded my GP to change the HRT the effects wouldn't be felt in time.  I'm looking forward to getting a new GP but actually think once everything is settled after our move that I may try stopping the HRT.
Has anyone else experienced symptoms from HRT after many months?

Hi

why does your Doc not put you on one of the more modern bio identical estrogen based preparations?

If your doc is so worried about increasing the dose then they should be giving you a better option like femoston or elleste or patches/gel+utro combinations?

There was another post today about someone moving to femoston calming/curing their sore boobs issue fyi.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply.  I think the GP prescribes according to cost, but I may go back to talk it through.

Hi

http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/perimeno.php

If your doc is doing this on cost based or keeping you on a low dose then they are misleading you.

The dose your on is actually medium dose (equiv of 2mg of bioidentical estrogen which is healthier for you). See the above link for lower dose options that a lot of us start off on.

As for the cost as you can see from same above link there is not much in the cost.

Is your health worth spending £2 or £4 on your hrt? This flies in the face of doc worrying about the amount of dose your on.

Print out the page or have it handy on your phone at next visit.

Don't take any wish wash and be firm about moving to a "better" option!

Hope all goes well.
