vagifem

I have been on vagifem now for just over 6 months. I know it is a locational form of HRT and is not supposed to help with any of the other Meno symptoms, but since taking it, the flushes and night sweats have all but gone.
I'm 53 and not had a period for nearly a year.  I did mention it to my Dr and she just laughed and said 'lucky you'    Could it be a placebo effect?
Has anyone else ever experienced the same thing?

Evenstar - You are probably one of the 'lucky' ones who had meno symptoms for a very little time before your body adjusted and settled.  This doesn't mean you don't need the local oestrogen though as VA can strike anyone. You are lucky - I envy you.  DG x

Yes Evenstar, I also maintain that some of my Vagifem gets into my system with beneficial effects and my doctor accepts it too.

The amount which gets into the system is said to be very low and therefore not harmful, but in our case enough to help!

Nice to hear that someone else has the same experience :)  I have always been very sensitive to any medication I've taken so that may be why it's possibly having a beneficial effect.  Don't know, but I'm certainly not complaining thats for sure .x

Me too as regards sensitivity to everything! I am also not complaining in this instance though when the effects are favourable.
