Hi Kittyjay
What dose of Utrogestan are you taking? I presume it's the 100 mg as this is the only one available now and also is the licensed dose for continuous combined HRT (apart from the 3 day break that is)?
Ideally while you are still having periods the aim is to synchronise HRT with your natural cycle, but since many women have irregular cycles as they progress towards menopause this becomes somewhat academic! However it is important to continue to take the right dose of progesterone to oppose the amount of oestrogen - and therefore keep the lining thin.
Personally I would take the rest of the dose orally - but also depends on where you are in menopause ie how were your periods before starting HRT?
The reason some women feel better on continuous progesterone, is because those who can tolerate it no longer have the rise and fall in this hormone - which is responsible for many symptoms of pms - as you say your body has adjusted to it. The last pms phase of HRT occurs for several days after stopping the progesterone and usually before the bleed as in the natural cycle - which leads women to believe the oestrogen is causing their symptoms - when in fact it is the last bit of the progesterone phase - the progesterone withdrawal - and the associated physiological changes.
It's good to hear you feel good on it! I am thinking that 100 mg could be a better option for me - but I don't want to use it vaginally all the time (

), and like to keep my cycle longer.....
