Flushes

I have been on ellesste  solo 2mg tablet for almost a year and apart from a few blips have been fine but the last two weeks the flushes have come back with a vengeance. I don't want to change HRT has anyone else had this happen to them and did it settle again .

I assume you have had a hysterectomy so only need to use oestrogen? Why not try the transdermal method of HRT e.g. patches or gel.  The absorption is better with this method so may improve the effectiveness.   It's all the same type of oestrogen so you shouldn't react negatively - it should actually be better as the oestrogen doesn't have to go throughout the liver.  DG x

I was on gel for a number of years Anjia, only changing to patches just over 2 years ago. I was on oestrogel & it was fairly effective at keeping flushes at bay. Gel/patches are better for you too as Dancinggirl says as it doesn't go through liver.

I may have been lucky, but don't remember any adverse effects when I initially changed from tablets to the gel. I changed as I'm lactose intolerant & my tablets had lactose in them.

When I tried the patch I couldent seem to get a balance and another thing was they kept coming off I have found the pill fine for me until now but I think 2mg is the most you can have with a pill. Gel could be the answer but Im dreading changing really I don't fancy other awful symptoms returning .

I'm on Estradot patches. I was worried about them coming off, but was assured they are really good at staying put. Think I've only had a couple of occasions when they've come off. Might be worth trying the gel though.

I'm not post meno but for some reason I wasn't abosrbing pills, they had no effect on my flushes, but once I got on a sufficiently dosed patch I started noticing a reduction in the flushes.
