We did thank you - now we face another Bank Holiday with more plans  ::) - probably antique centred  ;) and gardening.

Don't live near Whitby, CLKD, but have taken more holidays and day trips in the area than I've had hot dinners!  Tell us what you need to know.

Disneyland is booked!  Just need to book Premier Inn for each direction (it's a long drive from Leeds to Paris in one day!), and the Shuttle crossings (don't do ferries).  And we're going to go to Duxford on the way - sooooo looking forward to it.  :) :)

Well Done Scampi!  how long are you away for?

Looking for camp sites near Whitby - need to be able to walk into the town rather than using public transport  ::) 1st half of the holiday near Huddersfield/Birds Edge is booked - site we used 12 months ago with lots of walking/sitting and a very good farm ice-cream parlour  ;)

How far would you be prepared to walk CLKD? We saw one about five miles from Whitby last time we were there. It was Midwood or Middlewood - something like that.

Yeah you have to go to The Magpie Cafe if you like fish and chips. You do have to queue quite often but it's well worth it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vMiPuSr9lE

I haven't had a proper holiday for a couple of years so I've been looking around to see if I could afford a cottage/apartment for a week in the school summer holidays. The prices are ludicrous!! Up to £1200 for a two bedroom apartment! The week before the summer holidays, of course, things are up to £300 a week cheaper. It's not like I earn loads of money being a teaching assistant and out of the thirteen weeks holiday a year off school I only get paid for four of them. Makes me so annoyed although I do love the thirteen weeks off.
