Quizzes, games, brain activities
« on: December 16, 2014, 08:03:33 PM »

A friend sent an e-card with a puzzle on ……… great fun!  Jacqui Lawson web-site has lots to go with their cards.  I also do crosswords and word searches regularly as well as NintendoDS puzzles.  I buy the weekend papers due to good puzzles sections which I would miss!

DH likes jigsaws - as well as suduko …..

Do any of you do puzzles etc.?

Fiancé and me play a quiz on our phones.  This has been going on for about 2 years now plus I play scrabble with friends on my phone.

I don't do puzzles, CLKD, unless you count the ones that use black or white blobs set on five lines!  I've watched people in awe, doing Soduko (sp??) puzzles, and crosswords are far too cryptic for my small brain.  Having said that, I do like anagrams   ::)    Hats off to you, though!

I love taking a puzzle book on holiday but don't really do them any other time. And my husband, daughter and I enjoy doing jigsaws but it gets a bit messy as our cats run off with the pieces  ::)

I have puzzle games downloaded on my tablet. Some are quite hard. Also have simple ones when all I want to do is chill.

I am addicted to soduko and like doing word search , and love the one where you have to make as many words as poss using the centre letter once.  I think they keep the brain active. I also do jigsaws, but like the boxed ones and am fussy about the make......

I do jigsaw puzzles. 1,000 piece is the most I can fit on my board. I get neck ache sometimes staring at it  ;D ;D.
I do cryptic crosswords to - not the Times mind, too difficult for me.
I also like those ones too ellie that you have to make as many words as poss using the centre letter one.
We also try & go to a local quiz night once a month with some friends.

So why am I so daft at times? ::) ::)

Oh yes, I mentioned my jigsaw addiction started when I was poorly last year. The sad thing is when you have completed one, you have to put it away with nothing to show for it! But friends keep lending me ones and I can't resist.... .. ::) I like sudoku and codewords, but my brain can't get round cryptic clues for crosswords.

I occasionally do puzzles (I like straight crosswords), but I work full-time in a job that does tax my brain, so I tend to do things that take less thinking in my spare time, such as model-making and crochet ... although the square I crocheted this last weekend definitely had me scratching my head and thinking very hard!!!

I'm with you JuJu and Sparkle cannot do cryptic crosswords.
I love jigsaws, have got a wordsearch downloaded onto phone & tablet but it's American need to find UK English! I also same as Ellie & Cazikins making words starting with middle letter.

I love sudoku but I'm not very good at it, and enjoy crosswords but not the cryptic ones. I think you either get those or you don't.

I'll have to educate you girls regarding cryptic clues.
Now let me put my thinking cap on & I'll get back to you.
